The Consultant, Patient Access & Support Strategy at Acumetis is responsible for developing innovative, patient-centered access and support programs that improve therapy initiation, adherence, affordability, and overall patient experience. This role partners with biopharmaceutical clients to design strategic solutions, optimize patient support ecosystems, and implement operational frameworks that drive measurable outcomes across the patient journey.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the strategic design and optimization of patient service support programs aligned with patient, provider, and payer needs.
Develop comprehensive patient journey maps across therapeutic areas to identify access barriers, support gaps, and intervention opportunities.
Support client engagements and cultivate long-term partnerships while overseeing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Analyze market, competitive, reimbursement, and patient support data to generate actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
Design and implement patient access programs, including hub services, copay assistance, affordability solutions, reimbursement support, adherence programs, and patient education initiatives.
Develop and manage detailed implementation plans, including stakeholder coordination, project governance, risk assessment, timeline management, vendor oversight, and milestone tracking.
Establish program performance metrics, KPIs, and reporting frameworks to measure effectiveness, patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and return on investment.
Collaborate with technology, operations, and analytics teams to develop business requirements, workflows, business rules, and system enhancements supporting patient access and support services.
Create executive-level client deliverables, including business cases, access strategy recommendations, market assessments, launch readiness plans, program designs, and implementation roadmaps.
Support commercialization and launch planning efforts by integrating patient access strategies into broader brand and market access objectives.
Leverage digital engagement, omnichannel, and non-personal promotion strategies to increase awareness and utilization of patient support resources while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Drive thought leadership initiatives and contribute innovative solutions that advance patient access and support best practices.
Monitor evolving healthcare, reimbursement, specialty pharmacy, and patient support trends to inform strategic recommendations.
Mentor team members, foster collaboration, and ensure high-quality project execution and client deliverables.
Maintain accountability for project quality, strategic relevance, and alignment with client business objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related discipline; advanced degree (MBA, MPH, MS, PharmD, or PhD) preferred.
4+ years of experience in patient access, patient support services, reimbursement, specialty pharmacy, hub operations, or pharmaceutical consulting.
Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, or managing patient support and access programs within the biopharmaceutical industry.
Understanding of payer dynamics, reimbursement pathways, prior authorization processes, specialty pharmacy distribution, and affordability programs.
Experience conducting strategic analyses, synthesizing complex information, and developing client-facing recommendations.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.
Experience with patient services technology platforms, CRM systems, or workflow solutions is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Tableau, Power BI, or other analytics and visualization tools is a plus.
Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
Proven ability to identify and solve complex business challenges while delivering client-focused solutions.
